Description
The second whisky in Highland Park’s Viking series is a much peatier affair and has mostly been aged in ex Sherry casks which will provide some extra sweetness to balance against the peat. In case you were wondering Valknut apparently means ‘knot of those slain in battle’.

Product Description
It was Magnus Eunson who founded Highland Park, back in 1798. Much is made of his Viking heritage around the distillery and there is little doubt that, being based on Orkney some 16km north of the Scottish mainland, that the climate is certainly pretty wild being surrounded by stormy seas. Despite its remoteness though, the temperature is relatively steady across the year (rarely varying out of between 2 and 16 degrees) which is perfect for maturing whisky.
Tasting Notes
Very smartly presented limited edition release from Highland Park
